Founder of Type One Climbs
Hi, I’m Paul – a lifelong climber, guide, and the founder of Type One Climbs.
I’ve spent over 20 years climbing through the U.S. and the last 10 guiding professionally with local outfitters across Southern California. My passion lies in helping others safely experience the magic of the outdoors, especially those who are new to climbing or navigating it while managing a chronic condition.
As a certified guide with the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) and a Wilderness First Responder, I bring both technical expertise and a deep respect for the unique needs of every climber. I created Type One Climbs to be more than just a guide service – it’s a community build on inclusion, encouragement, and empowerment.
Whether you’re tying in for the first time or looking to take your gym skills to real rock, I’m here to help you build confidence, climb safely, and enjoy the wild in a way that works for you.
